Former Powderfinger frontman Bernard Fanning has used some of his appearances at Falls Festival 2016/2017 to honour late musician Prince with his rendition of ‘Purple Rain’, and footage of one of the tributes has now emerged online.
Fanning has covered the song a bunch of times recently, but when he performed it at the Byron Bay leg of Falls Festival earlier this week, a long line of people linked arms in solidarity.
The performance was also pretty fitting given how much it had rained in Byron, but even that hasn’t stopped this from becoming the top comment on Falls Festival’s Facebook video of the “special moment”:

Falls Festival has now wrapped up in Lorne, Marion Bay and Byron Bay, and will kick off in Fremantle on Saturday, 7th January.
