Watch Metallica Perform Deep Cut ‘Fixxxer’ For The First Time Ever

We knew that when Metallica announced their huge 40th-anniversary shows in San Francisco there’d be some serious deep cuts.

After all, their legendary 30th anniversary shows included reunions, rarities, and surprises in excess.

However, a first-time airing of the cult-classic ‘Fixxxer’ off the polarising (but staunchly defended by someLoad album was still something to behold for the 15,000 strong fans that attended the first of their recent 40th birthday shows.

“We are grateful that you have been along with us for 40 years, and we are so happy that you’re here still after all this time,” said frontman James Hetfield during the show, before adding “after 40 years, there are still firsts” before the song kicked into gear.

The show, which was one of many events taking place over the week to commemorate the 40th anniversary of Metallica this week, featured other rarities such as ‘Orion’, ‘Trapped Under Ice’, and ‘Spit Out THee Bone’ to close the show. Check out the first-ever live video of ‘Fixxxer’ below.
