As if it wasn’t already enough that they’re delivering a video for every song of their forthcoming record Hardwired… To Self-Destruct today, Metallica have joint forces with Jimmy Fallon for a toy instrument cover of Enter Sandman.
The band joined forces with The Roots and Fallon on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to show everyone a very different side to the song and the band.
You wouldn’t exactly call Metallica’s music light-hearted but this cover could prove us wrong, transporting Enter Sandman from a mighty, heavy rock tune into a sunny, uplifting track.
The best part is, the band look like they’re having the time of their lives, surprisingly looking at home clutching plastic instruments.
Metallica aren’t the first to take on Fallon’s toy instrument challenge. Adele, The Lonely Island, Sia and more have shown off the childish side to their songs on the US late night show.
Metallica’s Hardwired… To Self-Destruct will be released tomorrow and from what we hear, there were no toy instruments used in the making of it.
