Why You Won’t See Foo Fighters At Soundwave Or Big Day Out In 2015

AJ Maddah has said that stadium rock superstars Foo Fighters will most likely not feature on the lineups of Soundwave 2015, Big Day Out 2015, nor Vans Warped Tour Australia 2014, telling a Twitter follower that making them an offer would be wrong as he is not their Australian promoter.

“Are Foo Fighters a sneaky chance to be playing BDO, SW or Warped next year?” asked one of Maddah’s devoted social media followers, to which the mogul swiftly responded, “Doubt it!” Asked by another fan why he dismissed one of the world’s biggest bands, he said, “I’m not Foos promoter.”

Maddah elaborated further on his motivations for passing on Grohl and the boys when asked if he would consider working with Swedish power metal outfit Sabaton, saying, “[Sabaton] are another Australian promoter’s artist. As such I wont make the approach to them as that would be wrong.”

With Maddah adhering to his code, Foos have been effectively ruled out as a potential headliner for Soundwave 2015, which has had rumours circulating around it since Soundwave 2014 concluded last weekend, with illustrious names like Disturbed gaining traction as potential headliners.

“You got it!” exclaimed Maddah when a fan nonchalantly requested David Draiman and his crew headline the 2015 Soundwave instalment. Maddah also said he’d be happy to have Iron Maiden return to helm his flagship event, but has ruled out Judas Priest and Rage Against the Machine.
