The New Pollution: # 020 – Starky

Written by Timothy Neville on February 8, 2012

Starky are another band that peaked back in 2006. Unfortunately, they’re in musical heaven now, but check out their songs if you’re into The Strokes, The Smiths, Loon Lake and Bloc Party.

Starky was a guitar-heavy indie rock band from Sydney that came to prominence on Triple J alongside like-minded bands including Red Riders, Expatriate and Van She. Starky released two albums, Mirror, Signal, Manouvre (2003) and Starky (2006) and they were both rad. They supported The Killers at the Hordern Pavillion and then split shortly after in 2007. Listen to Is This How It Ends below, it’s easily in my top 5 Australian songs of all time. R.I.P.
