The New Pollution: # 022 – Standard Fare

Written by Timothy Neville on February 13, 2012

Standard Fare (name taken from a bus sign) are a jangle-pop band from Sheffield. Their 2010 debut album, The Noyelle Beat, garnered critical acclaim on both sides of the Atlantic and should be listened to by everyone into upbeat guitars and howling females up front.

Standard Fare toured extensively on the back of The Noyelle Beat (including stints in North America, France and of course, the UK) and have just released their follow up LP, Out Of Sight, Out Of Town (December, 2011). It’s more C86 inspired goodness so check out  single Suitcase embedded below. It’s for fans of The Bodines, Aztec Camera and more recently, The Delgados and Garbage.
