Nic Cester, the frontman of Aussie rockers Jet, is currently writing a debut solo album for release later this year.
The muso, who was today announced on the lineup for Bluesfest 2017, has been working on new tunes while travelling the world and living between Germany and Italy.
According to a statement from Bluesfest organisers, Cester’s solo tunes take influence from soul, glam and blues music, and have seen the singer-songwriter team up with Italian session musicians who play string and horn instruments.
Cester’s debut solo album is still without an official title or release date, but the muso and his band will debut a number of his solo tracks for the very first time at this year’s Bluesfest in April.

Jet reformed last year, and played a reunion show at a Melbourne pub earlier this month, before playing two headline shows in Sydney and supporting a number of Bruce Springsteen’s Australian tour dates.
