Powderfinger Launch New Website Spurring Fresh Reunion Speculation

Legends of the Australian music scene Powderfinger have been inactive as a band since officially breaking up in 2010, but hope that a reunion may not be entirely out of the question was sparked yesterday when the band launched a brand new website.

The band announced the new website via a Facebook post and the site went live just over a day ago, leading to a massive response from fans imploring the band to reunite.

The post describes the new site as “a living, breathing museum to all things Powderfinger.” The site itself contains plenty of archived Powderfinger videos and photos, a history of all their gigs and an abridged history of the band itself.

“My all time favorite band, you guys should get together for another tour you know it would sell out,” said one fan. “Just become an active band again!! Problem solved!!” said another.

At the time of writing the band hadn’t responded to any reunion comments, but they did respond to one fan asking whether there’ll be opportunities to buy Powderfinger merchandise soon. “You’ll be pleased to know then that a new merch store is coming soon,” said the band.

Reunion or not, get onto powderfinger.com and gorge on gluttony of 2000s nostalgia that awaits you.

Powderfinger last performed together in 2015 at the launch of guitarist Darren Middleton’s Splinters album.
