The Peninsula Picnic Announces Its Return In 2016 With Missy Higgins & More

Grab your tartan blanket and a basket to boot because the Peninsula Picnic is back in 2016 with a line-up full of homegrown talent headlined by Missy Higgins, landing Sunday 20th March at Mornington Racecourse.

Returning to the serene surrounds of the Mornington Peninsula following this year’s sold out inaugural event, the 2016 festival is the region’s most extensive food, wine and music gathering. Featuring gourmet restaurants, decadent wineries, fresh local produce and quality artisan wares all matched with great local music, the festival promises to deliver a world class experience for gourmands and audiophiles alike.

As mentioned above, Missy Higgins will be headlining the festival this year, the multiple award winning singer songwriter bringing a swag load of hits with her for picnic-ers. Also on the bill is blues and roots virtuoso Kim Churchill as well as Powderfinger guitarist Darren Middleton, who’ll be showcasing music from his solo albums.

On a quieter note, upcoming Adeliade folk artist Timberwolf will also be appearing at the festival, as will Shoreham local singer/sogwriter Ruby Whiting. Add all this to the full list of food and wine providores to be announced in the coming weeks, and you have quite a heady feast for the senses.

Taking place over one unique day in the leafy and sea-salted surrounds of Mornington Racecourse, the country harvest atmosphere of the festival makes it the perfect regional escape or family day out.
