Tom DeLonge & Travis Barker Are Getting “Serious” About New Music

Written by Emmy Mack on May 8, 2017

Estranged Blink-182 bandmates Tom DeLonge and Travis Barker aren’t just on good terms, they’re also having “serious” conversations about working together again.

Blink’s currently MIA guitarist and resident UFO hunter DeLonge has been teasing a ~Family Reunion~ with Travis on social media, telling fans on Twitter: “Travis Barker and I had a good conversation today, this time it was a bit more serious and not just a crazy photo that I get suckered into”, to which Travis replied, “Ha.”

And while the promising tweet may have Blink-182 diehards ~Feeling This~, it seems more likely that the pair’s “good conversation” could be related to their other band, Boxcar Racer.

At least, that seems to be where Tom’s head is at RN. A day after his initial tweet, Tom shared another Twitter update saying, “Maybe I should do more live BCR songs on Instagram, as Trav and I still love that album.”

And he also retweeted a fan asking for a Boxcar reunion.

The update comes after Travis discussed the likelihood of a new Boxcar Racer album last year, saying he thought the idea would be “cool”.

As for Blink-182, the latest word from bassist Mark Hoppus was that the band were planning to return to the studio at the end of the year, and while Tom has recently suggested he could basically walk back into the band any time he wanted, Mark has since vaguely shrugged off those claims.

But either way, it seems Tom is keen to give the paranormal a rest and get into playing music again, with his latest Instagram update saying, “I’m (slowly) getting the itch to play… #theadventure.”

Maybe we have Amy Shark to thank for that?
