Watch: Red Hot Chili Peppers Cover David Bowie’s ‘What In The World’ In Auckland

Red Hot Chili Peppers have been known for usually throwing in a few covers in their live shows, and their two gigs in New Zealand earlier this week were no exception.

On both nights of their shows at Auckland’s Vector Arena, the band paid homage to the recently re-surfaced rock god David Bowie – performing their own unique take on his track What in the World.

What was more amusing though – as shown in this video captured by ‘nzrockgigs‘ – was Flea‘s banter to the crowd prior to them performing the track at Monday night’s show.

“How many of you guys want to get your dick sucked tonight?” he asked. After roaring screams, he declared, “Oh, that’s way too many, I can’t suck all your dicks.”

Quite an intro if we’ve ever seen one. Check out the video of Red Hot Chili Peppers playing David Bowie’s What in the World at the bottom of the page.

Red Hot Chili Peppers will be in Australia later this week to headline the Big Day Out, which kicks off in Sydney on Friday. Triple j will be broadcasting their set live from the event.

If you can’t wait and are itching to see what they are likely to play, check out their setlist from Night 1 in Auckland here, and Night 2 (which had quite a few different tracks) here.
