Charles Bradley, the Screaming Eagle of Soul, will return to Australia with his Extraordinaires in March/April, for shows in both Adelaide and Melbourne after an appearance at West Coast Blues N Roots Festival.
Bradley, who was first discovered in New York singing James Brown songs, is now at the forefront of modern soul. His all-star band features members of The Dap Kings, Budos Band and The Menahan St Band, amongst others. He released his debut album, No Time For Dreaming, in 2011, at the age of 62. His second studio album, Victim of Love, was released in 2013.
Charles Bradley And His Extraordinaires last performed in Australia in March 2014, touring as part of Golden Plains, Melbourne Zoo’s Twilights program and the inaugural Panama Festival.
Music Feeds reviewer Alana Mahony praised the band’s Golden Plains appearance as “an unforgettable funk performance, with three costume changes and a few attempts at the splits for good measure”.
When Charles Bradley And His Extraordinaires return to Australia in 2015, they’ll perform at Adelaide’s The Gov on Monday, 30th March and Melbourne’s The Corner on Wednesday, 1st April. Tour and ticket details are available below.
