Sydney hip hop collective One Day will tonight head out on another run of headline shows as part of their Many Hands tour, but first stopped by triple j this morning to deliver a killer cover of Scribe’s 2003 hit Not Many for Like A Version.
All seven One Dayers, a collective which features members of Horrorshow, Spit Syndicate, Joyride and Jackie Onassis, crammed into the triple j studio to perform the cover of the loved hip hop track, masterfully hitting the P-Money double time beat, nailing the harmonies and giving it a personal touch by swapping out the lyrics with verses about their Sydney inner west home and their own national bloc parties.
The boys even touched on a topical music industry debate during their time in the studio, hinting at the track they would be covering by posing the question, “At most Australian music festivals, how many police sniffer dogs are doing their job effectively?” Their answer: Not Many.
While in the studio, One Day also delivered a smooth rendition of their Mainline track, Love Me Less. Watch both performances below.
Fans now have the chance to relive these killer performances as One Day head out on their run of national dates in the lead up to their appearance at the Groovin The Moo, as well as at their epic One Day Sundays block parties. See tour details below.
