UPDATE 17/12/15 5.50pm: Soundwave 2016 has been officially cancelled.
UPDATE: That supplementary 2016 lineup announcement is here.
With Soundwave‘s first full lineup announcement still fresh in our memories, the festival is now planning to drop a handful of new acts next week, followed by even more later in the month.
Posting to Twitter, Soundwave promoter AJ Maddah says Soundwave is “going to do a supplementary announcement next week with 4 or 5 bands” followed by another announcement of around 8 acts later in November.
As for what kinds of bands will be on the next official announcements, Maddah says there will be some more metal…
@Tom03654201 Yep.

…some pop punk…
@Zombie_Muffin YES!

…and probably at least one of the these three bands:

Though, as one eagle eye Soundwave fan pointed out,it’s probably not Coheed and Cambria as they have clashing tour dates.
That said, there’s also still no word as to whether or not The Wiggles will be making an appearance, although we’d love it if they did.

Music Feeds announced Soundwave’s first 2016 lineup last week, confirming the likes of Disturbed, The Prodigy, Deftones, NOFX and Public Enemy for the January festival. The announcement drew all kinds of reactions online, ranging from the positive to the negative and the downright funny.
On the Soundwave sidewaves front, Maddah has ruled out any Soundwave acts doing their own headline shows in Adelaide, telling multiple punters the city won’t see any sidewaves this year.
@Irene_Shinoda No sorry. No plans for Adelaide shows in the foreseeable future.

@KimberleyJane26 @soundwavefest @bmthofficial No. Sorry. No side shows or Adelaide

Things aren’t looking too good for the near future, either.
@ZakkHaake Soon as there are signs of life that would support an event the size of SW. Current large metal shows on sale there are disaters

While Soundwave has been planning a “killer 4 band metal sidewave” for Perth, that has yet to be confirmed and it doesn’t look like the city will be getting much other sidewave action either.
@ADiCarlo92 @Disturbed No Perth or Adelaide. Sorry.
