The xx‘s 2017 album I See You is holding strong as one of the best albums of the year so far, and now the band are in the middle of holding their ‘Night+Day Festival’ in England.
It’s the fifth edition of the festival, and this year The xx have curated a stacked lineup including American singer-songwriter Chan Marshall aka Cat Power.
As it happens, Cat Power is one of Romy Croft’s biggest heroes and inspirations. During her performance at the festival she surprised the crowd by bringing Croft out on stage, introducing her as “a special person in my life,” before the two performed a heartfelt rendition of Power’s song ‘Maybe Not.’
Romy posted a video of the performance to her Instagram account. “Last night was a moment I will never ever forget,” she wrote. “Your voice has been a big influence on how I sing. Thank you for letting me sing your beautiful song with you.”
