Brisbane rockers Columbus have announced an east coast tour for their upcoming new album A Hot Take On Heartbreak, while also revealing a new single dubbed ‘Care At All’.
Hitting the road in June for headline shows in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, Columbus will be performing some of their latest material after A Hot Take On Heartbreak drops on 25th May. Supporting the tour will be Brisbane trio Sweater Curse.
Sharing album cut ‘Care At All’ (below) today, frontman Alex Moses describes the song as “lyrically one of the darker songs on the record, but instrumentally it has a surfy-grunge feel”.
“I wrote the song about what it feels like to let down someone you love, and neglect what’s really important to you,” he says.
“I was drinking a mix of apple juice and Whiskey in the studio while tracking vocals, which felt appropriate as the song flirts with the themes of alcoholism.”
A Hot Take On Heartbreak is the follow-up to Columbus’ debut album Spring Forever, and was recorded with Eskimo Joe’s Joel Quartermain.
