PREMIERE: Sydney Alt-Rockers Inklines Come Alive On New EP ‘Today’

Sydney alt-rock trio Inklines turn back the dial on their nostalgic new EP, Today. We’re premiering the whole thing on Music Feeds.

The band recorded and produced the new seven-track release during a three day stay in an Airbnb outside of Goulburn, NSW.

“Choosing to lay the tracks down this way allowed us to put as much time as we needed into each individual element of the songs, and took any time pressure we normally experience off our shoulders,” the band said. “Top it off with an amazing location, and it was a weekend we will not be forgetting anytime soon.”

Producer and engineer Lachlan West (Walk the Moon, Gordi, The Vines) joined the band in the ad hoc Airbnb studio and later mixed and mastered what they’d recorded. The end product recalls the ’90s and ’00s alt-rock heyday of many of the band’s key influences, including Silverchair, Muse and latter-day Kings of Leon.

Triple J’s Declan Byrne complimented the EP’s lead single, ‘All Gone’, writing, “it’s got that wistful rock feel that has you totally consumed in the emotion of the song.”

Inklines formed on the Northern Beaches in 2017. The band consists of guitarist/vocalist Will Tremain, drummer Tom Bowden, and bassist Daniel Mulroney. Today follows the band’s first two EPs, Willing & Able (2018) and Book Club (2020)
