UK rap star Aitch has officially pulled the pin on his upcoming Australian and New Zealand tour, with the BRIT Award-winning rapper cancelling all shows scheduled for next month.
The run was set to see Aitch hit Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Brisbane in support of his latest album 4, marking his long-awaited return Down Under. Unfortunately, a statement shared with ticketholders via Moshtix cited “unforeseen circumstances” as the reason for the sudden cancellation.
Aitch – ‘Bounce’
“I’m really sorry to say I have to cancel my upcoming shows in Australia and New Zealand due to unforeseen circumstances,” Aitch wrote. “I know how many of you had plans around these dates and I hate letting you down… I’ll be back as soon as I can. Thank you for the love and understanding.”
The good news for fans is that refunds will be processed automatically, with Moshtix confirming ticketholders don’t need to take any action – funds will be returned directly to the original payment method.
The cancelled tour would’ve been Aitch’s first Australian headline run since 2022, following festival appearances at Splendour In The Grass and Spilt Milk in 2023. Just last month, the rapper had also locked in a stacked support lineup for the shows, with Elsy Wameyo and NERVE announced as special guests.
There’d already been a few shake-ups leading into the tour too, with venue changes confirmed for both Sydney and Melbourne – the Melbourne date shifting from Festival Hall to the smaller Northcote Theatre, and Sydney moving from the Hordern Pavilion to the Roundhouse.
Released in June, 4 marked a deeply personal chapter for Aitch, with the Manchester native previously explaining the album’s title nods to both his postcode (M40) and his fourth major body of work. “I want to give people a piece of where I really come from,” he said at the time. “A bit of me and where I’m at.”
