ICEHOUSE are celebrating 40 years of their landmark album Man Of Colours in a big way, announcing a six-date Australian arena tour for June and July 2027 – where they’ll perform the record in full for the very first time.
The Aussie legends will kick off the anniversary run at Newcastle Entertainment Centre on Saturday, 5th June, before heading to Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide and wrapping things up at Perth’s RAC Arena on Saturday, 10th July.
ICEHOUSE – ‘Man of Colours’
The shows will mark ICEHOUSE’s first headline indoor concert tour in more than 20 years, after the band spent much of the past 15 years playing large-scale outdoor gigs.
And while plenty of Man Of Colours tracks have become live staples over the decades, there are several songs from the album that ICEHOUSE have never actually performed live – meaning the anniversary run will deliver some genuine firsts for both the band and their fans.
“The band and I are excited to be celebrating the Man Of Colours anniversary with you all,” frontman Iva Davies said in a statement. “We’ve never played some of the songs from the album so this tour is going to include some firsts for us as well as our fans.”
“These seated, indoor shows are going to be different for the band and the audiences too,” he continued. “Compared to the big outdoor shows we’ve mainly been playing over the past 15 years, indoors means we get to play more songs and create an even bigger show for us all.”
Released on 21st September 1987, Man Of Colours became ICEHOUSE’s biggest album, hitting #1 in Australia and spending 11 weeks atop the chart. It has since sold more than one million copies and earned the band ARIA Awards for Album Of The Year and Highest Selling Album.
The record spawned some of ICEHOUSE’s most enduring songs, including Crazy, Electric Blue, My Obsession, Nothing Too Serious and its title track, with Electric Blue and Crazy also becoming major hits in the US.
Alongside performing Man Of Colours from front to back, the band will stack the setlist with favourites from elsewhere in their catalogue, including Great Southern Land, Hey Little Girl, No Promises, Don’t Believe Anymore, Love In Motion and We Can Get Together.
“These are going to be very, very special shows in celebration of our best-known album, its songs and the fans who’ve made it a part of their lives over the past 40 years,” Davies added. “See you there!”
Special guests for the tour will be announced in the coming months.
ICEHOUSE fan club and PayPal presales kick off from 11am local time on Wednesday, 16th September, before general tickets go on sale from 11am local time on Friday, 18th September.
There’ll also be a selection of specially priced $99.90 tickets spread throughout the best seating sections at each arena.
