German power metal veterans Primal Fear are heading down under in 2027, announcing an Australian headline tour to celebrate their 30th anniversary.
The heavy metal stalwarts will hit Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne across three consecutive nights in May, marking three decades since vocalist Ralf Scheepers and bassist Mat Sinner first formed the band back in 1997.
PRIMAL FEAR – ‘One’
They’ll kick things off at Brisbane’s Crowbar on Thursday, 6th May before heading to Sydney’s Crowbar the following night and wrapping up at Melbourne’s Croxton Bandroom on Saturday, 8th May.
As an added bonus, the tour is set to arrive hot on the heels of Primal Fear’s forthcoming new album Shadowriders, meaning Australian fans will be among the first in the world to hear material from the record performed live.
The new cuts will sit alongside a career-spanning selection of favourites from the German metal heavyweights, who have released 15 albums across their three-decade career.
Primal Fear were formed by Scheepers and Sinner in October 1997, with the former previously fronting Gamma Ray and at one point being considered among the potential candidates to replace Rob Halford in Judas Priest.
The band released their self-titled debut album in February 1998, reaching #48 on the German album chart, and have since spent decades touring the globe.
Primal Fear’s current lineup also features guitarists Magnus Karlsson and Thalìa Bellazecca alongside drummer André Hilgers.
Limited early bird tickets and VIP meet-and-greet packages go on sale from 11am AEST on Thursday, 17th September, before general tickets hit sale from 11am AEST on Tuesday, 22nd September.
The VIP packages include a meet-and-greet and photo opportunity with Primal Fear, a VIP laminate and lanyard, an Australian tour poster to have signed, the opportunity to get up to three additional personal items autographed and early access to the merch stand and venue.
