The Used frontman Bert McCracken recently spoke to Music Feeds, ahead of the band’s journey Down Under for the Australian leg of the 2013 Vans Warped Tour. The recent release of the festival lineup confirmed The Used as one of the headlining acts.
McCracken revealed that besides visiting for the Warped Tour, he’s recently become a full-time Aussie resident. The singer now lives in Sydney with his wife and has been busy with the launch of a new and unconventional record label, saying:
“What we’re trying to do with The Used is trying to change the world of music in a huge way…hopefully by next spring launch the first-ever free music record label.
“Like a Kickstarter campaign, except we don’t take anyone’s money, we don’t want to see a single percentage of anything that you do. We want you to make money and be happy as a band.”
McCracken also said he was hopeful for the prospect of sideshows while the band is here for Warped, though nothing’s been confirmed as yet. Regardless of the sideshows, McCracken stated “I’m sure that since I live in the country that we’re going to be playing in Australia quite a lot more than we used to.” This gives Australian Used fans plenty to be excited about.
