The Used‘s biggest Australian tour ever just got even bigger. The emo/alt-rock icons have expanded their 25th anniversary run this year, after a bunch of previously announced dates sold out, upgrading a slew of venues and adding a handful of extra shows.
As part of the ambitious silver jubilee celebrations, Bert McCracken & co will be playing three of their classic albums in full in each city: 2002’s self-titled debut, its 2004 follow-up In Love & Death and their 2007 album Lies For The Liars.

After first announcing a three-night stand in each city (one night for each album), two more Melbourne shows have now been added on Saturday, 9th August at The Forum (playing Self-Titled) and Sunday, 10th August at the same venue (playing In Love & Death).
Two extra shows have also been added at Sydney’s Liberty Hall, on Friday 5th September (Self-Titled) and Saturday, 6th September (In Love & Death). While Brisbane fans are getting one extra show at The Tivoli on Tuesday, 12th August, also for the In Love & Death LP.
Tickets to these newly announced gigs go on sale this Friday, 7th February at 10am local time.
Elsewhere, all venues in Adelaide and Perth have copped a venue upgrade, meaning even more tickets to all three shows in each city are now on sale (while all previously purchased tickets remain valid for the new venues). Adelaide performances now taking place in Hindley St Music Hall, and the original Perth shows now locked in at Metropolis in Fremantle.
“These first three records are what put The Used on the map,” McCracken said in a press statement announcing the tour. “I can’t wait to experience the joy in playing all three records from front to back. I know it will be an amazing time.”
Bassist Jeph Howard added: “We feel extremely lucky and humbled to have been a part of something way bigger than ourselves for the past 25 years. To everyone that has been there from the beginning, or is just starting out your adventure with us: thank you.”
The Used last toured Australia in April of 2023, which was a co-headlining tour with Papa Roach. Since the band were last here, they have released a further two studio albums: 2023’s Toxic Positivity and last year’s Medz. Their relationship with Australia stems back nearly 20 years, having first toured in May of 2005 – with McCracken ultimately moving to Sydney and becoming a bonafide citizen in 2013.
