It’s been some years since Karnivool released their previous album Sound Awake, and with their current opus Asymmetry now safely in the hands of fans, peers of The Vool are feeling an all-too-familiar chill as they remember just how much impact a release from the band can make. Fresh off the back of the album launch, Music Feeds caught up with guitarist Mark Hosking to talk shop about the album and current touring plans.
The record was a totally cohesive experience for the band, according to Hoskings. With 5 members, it’s no easy feat to remain diplomatic but it’s a process Karnivool have down pat at this stage. In an effort to push forward into uncharted sonic territory, the band weren’t so much looking back at what made their previous albums successful, but rather looked forward to challenge their fanbase.
As for touring, the band have been kept nice and busy with international touring commitments, but in a matter of weeks they will be heading out with rising stars Northlane for a run of headlining Australian tour dates. We chat about what fans can expect from the tour, as well as Mark’s thoughts on the wicked lineup.
