The excellently-named Psychedelic Porn Crumpets have just buttered up a freshly baked slice of psych rock to cap off a full packet of amazing news.
Premiering exclusively via Music Feeds below ahead of its official release this Friday, the Porn Crumpets’ new single ‘Social Candy’ is a rockin’ storm of hypnotic fuzz, verby vox and frenetic 70’s-inspired guitar riffery. All your fave things.
“Lyrically inspired by being absolutely smeagaled, musically reminiscent of the times where you’re battling between McDonalds or forking out for an Indian,” explains PPC’s Jack McEwan.
“A mix of up and down, left or right, Star Wars or that rom-com your girlfriend promised you you’d like. Decisions upon bad decision. Nights out or The Knights Inn. Whatever you pick really doesn’t matter cause you exist at the same time as every other weird Ghandi who thinks time and space is their own substance. Pick the feeling that makes you say ‘Gromit’ and Wallace yourself into oblivion.”
Well, exactly.
As well as serving us up a new psych rock banger, the Porn Crumpets have also announced a massive national tour alongside their upcoming appearances at Yours & Owls Fest and NYE On The Hill.
They’ll play a selection of headlining dates as well as shows alongside Southern River Band in Newcastle, Wollongong, Sydney, Brisbane, Maroochydore, Gold Coast, Ballarat, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth and Margaret River this September and October.
The song also comes on the heels of the band inking a huge management deal with UK label Wildlife Entertainment, home to acts including the Arctic Monkeys, Royal Blood and The Last Shadow Puppets (!)
