Falls Festival organisers dropped the long-awaited lineup for the event’s 2014/2015 celebrations this morning, and did not disappoint. Topped by UK indie group Alt-J , fellow indie-rockers Glass Animals , Norwegian electronic duo Röyksopp & Robyn and American groups The Black Lips and Cold War Kids , Falls’ 2014/2015 lineup was something to behold. That said, it’s hardly full up.
After announcing their 2013/14 lineup in August last year — a bill that featured Vampire Weekend , The Roots , and MGMT — organisers followed-up by adding The War On Drugs , Johnny Marr , and more just a month later, before rounding out the lineup with more choice names in October.
Back in March, Falls got together with their friends in the Splendour In The Grass camp to put on a Secret Sounds-presented showcase at South By Southwest , which helped get the rumour mill for both festivals churning. Of that lineup, only Gossling and Skaters made their way over to SITG.
Meanwhile, fellow Falls & Splendour SXSW showcase alumni Wolf Alice were confirmed as part of the Falls 2014/2015 lineup earlier today. With plenty of other acts “due” for an Australian return, Music Feeds has compiled a list of potential acts for upcoming Falls lineup announcements.

Washington indie-rock heroes Death Cab For Cutie began working on a new album late last year, and whilst the band haven't released any new material yet, their style and large fan-base are perfect for a Falls slot. That said, guitarist Chris Walla left the group earlier this week, which may affect the band's touring schedule.
Royal Blood 16 9 1920x1080 Official Press Pic
British rock duo Royal Blood were featured on the Falls Festival SXSW showcase earlier this year alongside Wolf Alice, who were announced on this year’s Falls lineup. Will they be a late inclusion to the lineup?
Beck 16 9 768x432
American multi-instrumentalist Beck released his twelfth studio album, 'Morning Phase', earlier this year and was last in the country to perform at Harvest Festival in 2012. Whilst he's still a big name, Beck's musical chops may not suit Falls Festival all too well this year.
Black Keys 3000x1688
American rockers The Black Keys revealed in May that they have been planning a return to Australia in early 2015. The duo released their eighth studio album, 'Turn Blue', earlier this year and there's a promising gap in their tour schedule.

Canadian musician Grimes has been busy working on a new album this year, and her music would be fit very nicely into the current Falls Festival lineup.
Jack White Lazaretto 16 9 1388x781
American rock stalwart Jack White is most definitely overdue for an Australian performance or two. The former White Stripes frontman released his second solo album, 'Lazaretto', earlier this year, and fans are more than ready for the great man's return.
Lana Del Rey 16 9 1280x720
In July, controversial pop songstress Lana Del Rey cheekily teased an Australian tour for this summer, but noted that no dates had been officially set. Del Rey released her most recent album, 'Ultraviolence', earlier this year, which spawned hits such as 'West Coast' and 'Brooklyn Baby'.
The Kooks 16 9 1280x720
English band The Kooks released a new EP titled 'Down' in April this year and haven't toured Australia since mid-2013. The band were praised when they played Falls back in 2011/2012.
Tv
New York's genre-spanning TV On The Radio recently announced that their fifth studio album, 'Seeds', will be released later this year. The band most recently played Down Under at Splendour In The Grass in 2013, and their new tunes may be the perfect fit for Falls.
Chloe Howl
British singer-songwriter and BBC Sound of 2014 nominee Chlöe Howl was one of the names listed for the Splendour In The Grass & Falls Festival Showcase at SXSW, alongside confirmed act Wolf Alice.
JETTA SINGER Facebook
Another Secret Sounds SXSW showcase alum, Liverpool-born and London-based singer-songwriter Jetta unveiled her debut 'Start a Riot' EP back in February to high acclaim.
TorMillerHighRes1
New York native Tor Miller is a rising star, whose iPhone recorded tune 'Hold The Phone' has received wide acclaim. Another member of the Secret Sounds SXSW showcase roster, his golden croon would be a good fit for Falls.
Delux
De Lux are another act drafted for the Splendour & Falls Festival SXSW Showcase that didn't make it to Splendour. The LA twosome describe themselves as a "post-disco dance-punk DIY duo."
Drowners
You guessed it, another act featured on the Splendour & Falls Festival SXSW Showcase was the NYC-based Drowners, who unveiled their self-titled debut album this year.
Dune Rats 16 19 3842x2160
Dune Rats embody the spirit of what an Aussie music festival should be – carefree and with plenty of great tunes. The group are on a roll, with a debut album and some raved-about tour dates now under their belts.
