Another Act Hints At 2014 Splendour Lineup Appearance

The Splendour In The Grass 2014 lineup rumour mill continues to build with another act dropping hints about a possible Splendour appearance. In a recent interview, London frontman for the electro-indie geniuses Metronomy Joseph Mount hinted the band plan to be in the country around the time the festival takes place.

In an interview with Purple Sneakers, Mount is described as acting coy when asked directly whether the band will feature on the coveted lineup. “When do they announce that festival?,” he asked. While the band’s founder didn’t give any certainties he did confirm Metronomy’s plans to be in the country this coming Winter.

“I think we’re planning on coming to Australia in your Winter but I’m not sure where that falls with these things,” he continued. “But we’re excited to come and visit and we’ll be seeing you in maybe.. I don’t know, maybe June? July? That kind of time?”

Organisers of Splendour In The Grass recently announced the dates for the 2014 instalment of the three-day camping and musical event. Splendour 2014 will once again take place at its home at the North Byron Parklands in Byron Bay, starting Friday, 25th July.

When they tour, Metronomy will be bringing in tow their latest record Love Letters, recorded in an all analog studio in Hackney, London. Music FeedsTom Williams recently dubbed the record a “quaint and slightly aloof soundtrack to heartache and loneliness” as well as “a brand of sad music you can dance to.” Check out the album review here.

That now places the Devon-based group square on the ever-growing list of acts already rumoured to feature on the Splendour In The Grass 2014 lineup. Such acts include the likes of London Grammar, James Vincent McMorrow, Sky Ferreira, and Outkast. Keep up with all the latest info by staying tuned to our special Splendour In The Grass 2014 Feed.
