Aussie troubadour Ash Grunwald is getting ready to return with a brand new shot of blues called River, the first single from his forthcoming album, NOW. Fresh from a stint at Bluesfest 2015, the singer-songwriter has announced a monster national tour in honour of his newest track’s forthcoming release.
Grunwald has booked a whopping 11-date trek across our sunburned country, with both metropolitan and regional shows smattered with a few local festival appearances this May, June and July.
It’ll be the first chance fans will get to hear River performed live following its official single release. Grunwald describes the politically-charged groover, the fruits of a collaboration with Ian Perez (Wolfmother), Pete Wilkins (formerly Blue King Brown) and Nick Didia (Pearl Jam/Springsteen/Rage Against the Machine producer) as “a call to those who are fed up with being played the fool”.
The tour will also be the last chance Aussie fans will get to see the bluesman live in the flesh before he’s called back overseas to satiate North American tour demands.
Ash Grunwald’s forthcoming new album, NOW, has been slated for release this September via Shock Records. He’s also just completed a music video for River, which is expected to drop sometime soon.
