Billie Joe Armstrong’s New Band The Longshot Surprise-Dropped Their Debut Album & The Internet Is FROTHING

Surprise! Wrap your ears around Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong‘s new punk sideproject, The Longshot.

After some cryptic ball-tickling on social media, followed by a single premiere under some truly bizarre circumstances, the mysterious new band has slammed all their cards down on the table, unveiling their full lineup (BJ + Green Day touring guitarist Jeff Matika on bass and vocals + Kevin Preston on guitar + David S. Field on drums) and debut album Love Is For Losers in full.

And fans. are. FROTHING IT.

… You get the idea.

And the critics are vibing it just as hard as fans, with NME making the bold claim that Love Is For Losers is Billie Joe’s “best album since 2004’s American Idiot” and Atwood Mag claiming that it’s “friendly pop-punk reminiscent of the Dookie era”.

The Longshot have basically dropped the motherload today. As well as their full LP, they’ve also unleashed a music video for the title track ‘Love Is For Losers’ AND they’ve announced a sh*t-tonne of US & Mexican tour dates to boot.

Hopefully Australia won’t be far behind.
