Bon Iver Brings ‘Sounds Of The South’ To Vivid LIVE

Led by Grammy winner Justin Vernon (better known as Bon Iver), a new collective of modern singer-songwriters and folk luminaries have banded together to celebrate American folklorist Alan Lomax exclusively for this year’s Vivid LIVE, in association with FBi Radio.

Lomax spent his life recording and collecting together folk music from around the globe. In 1959, Lomax ventured through Virginia, the Mississippi Delta and the Georgia Sea Islands, gathering the music of various folk musicians that eventually became a horde of recordings titled Songs Of The South.

Now Songs Of The South will be reintroduced to a new generation of folk enthusiasts. Performing alongside Bon Iver at Vivid LIVE will be North Carolina’s Megafaun, Canadian songstress Frazey Ford from The Be Good Tanyas, and praised jazz group Fight The Big Bull.

Featuring the music of Fred McDowell, Hobart Smith and Bessie Jones, Songs Of The South will be a special moment in time that stands as testimony to Lomax’s tireless effort to preserve and promote the richness of folk music.

There will be just four performances of this exclusive show. Tickets are available now through the Vivid LIVE website.
