Catherine Traicos and The Starry Night new album and tour

Catherine Traicos and her new band, The Starry Night have a new offering of alt-country, blues, roots and folk with the album Gloriosa.

To bring this new project to light Catherine Traicos has worked with guitarist Darren Nuttall and drummer Tim Day (both Tucker B’s) and bassist Kasper Kiely (Sketching Cato) with 5-time ARIA award winning producer Paul McKercher all on board.

The songs on Gloriosa focus on specifics but touch on big themes: love, life, death and place all feature in Traicos’ organic yet particular lyrical construction. The moods of the album switch deftly, from darkly desolate to playful, tender and melodic, a little like the songstress herself. On the subject of this album Traicos says “A wise friend once told me that ‘out of all the mud, chaos and destruction you can always create something beautiful.’ I hope you enjoy the songs we made.”

Gloriosa is out on July 8th through An Ocean Awaits Records and she’ll be touring around the country from July 16th.
