CLYPSO Announces EP ‘LIGHTS OUT’ And Releases New Single

Eora/Sydney-based artist CLYPSO has announced her upcoming EP LIGHTS OUT, which is set to be released on May 23 via Astral People Recordings. Today she has released the new single from the EP titled ‘I’VE SEEN THE LIGHT’.

CLYPSO’s latest single from the EP is a joyful embrace of fresh beginnings, shedding the burdens of the past. ‘I’VE SEEN THE LIGHT’ is a blend of bouncy synths, energetic piano stabs, and beats, capturing the euphoria of a promising tomorrow with a nod to the spirited highs of 90’s club music.

CLYPSO Revealed The Meaning Behind Her New Single

CLYPSO is known for her dynamic sound, which combines hyperactive beats, gritty basslines, and digital synths, CLYPSO’s music draws inspiration from late 2000’s indie electronica and new rave. ‘I’VE SEEN THE LIGHT’ showcases her ability to infuse introspection into her vibrant dance-pop, setting her apart from the crowd.

Reflecting on the track via a press release, CLYPSO shares, “‘I’VE SEEN THE LIGHT’ is the most cathartic song I’ve written. From the euphoric feeling I got while writing the repeated synth line, to the soulful lift I got tracking the housey piano bit before the big drop. My favorite lyric from the track is “Leave it all behind, new skin new tmr”, it really says it all and sums up where my head and heart are at.”

The announcement of CLYPSO’s new EP comes after her signing to Astral People Recordings and the release of her previous single ‘HOLLER’. Produced with Wave Racer, ‘HOLLER’ garnered widespread support on digital streaming platforms and radio stations, marking a thrilling return for the artist since her 2022 release, ‘Pure Shores’.
