Deep Purple Announce New Album “=1”

Deep Purple has announced their new album “=1” which is set for its release on Friday, 19th July, via earMUSIC. The lead single of the album might be out on 30th April. 

This is going to be the group’s first album with guitarist Simon McBride, who entered the band after Steve Morse left the band in 2022 after being a part of the group for a long time, as he had to take care of his wife who was not doing very well physically.

The members of the band include Ian Gillan (vocals), bassist Roger Glover (bass), Ian Paice (drums), and Don Airey, who has been a part of the band for a long time now. Bob Ezrin is going to be the producer of the album and he promises to capture the true essence of the Deep Purple sounds. 

The fans are quite curious about why the name of the album is “=1’. Well, the mystery behind the name would be revealed soon. The album is going to be released in a lot of formats like CD+DVD (digipak);2-LP gatefold vinyl (black 180g); CD (jewel case); limited purple 2-LP gatefold (180g); and also as a limited set that is going to include the CD+DVD digipak, 2-LP black vinyl gatefold, three additional 10″ vinyl records featuring live recordings from Deep Purple’s 2022 tour, plus more ephemera and collectibles. 

The tickets are not available yet, but they will be made available soon. The fans can pre-order the album in various formats that are available and also in bundles via the Deep Purple Online Store from here
