Dua Lipa Announces New Album, ‘Radical Optimism’

Dua Lipa has finally lifted the lid on her forthcoming third studio album. Dubbed Radical Optimism, the pop superstar’s new record will arrive on Friday, 3rd May.

The 11-track LP will feature previously-released mega-hit ‘Houdini’ (which music fans voted in at #41 in the triple j Hottest 100 of 2023) as well as recent single ‘Training Season’. It was written alongside a team of core collaborators, including Australia’s own Kevin Parker of Tame Impala fame.

Interestingly though, going off the official tracklist (which you can check out down below), it doesn’t look like Dua Lipa’s new record will feature any other guest vocalists. A rare occurrence in 2024!

Inspired by the three-time Grammy winner’s own journey self-discovery, Radical Optimism is being billed as a 90’s Britpop-infused album that taps into the feelings of joy and happiness that come with finding clarity in situations that once seemed impossible to face, and effectively growing through the chaos.

“A couple years ago, a friend introduced me to the term Radical Optimism. It’s a concept that resonated with me, and I became more curious as I started to play with it and weave it into my life,” Dua Lipa shared in a press statement.

“It struck me – the idea of going through chaos gracefully and feeling like you can weather any storm. At the same time, I found myself looking through the music history of psychedelia, trip hop, and Britpop. It has always felt so confidently optimistic to me, and that honesty and attitude is a feeling I took into my recording sessions.”
