Enjoy Michael Shannon Reading Leonard Cohen’s Anti-Kanye Poem ‘Kanye West Is Not Picasso’

We’re truly living in the worst timeline, but at least Michael Shannon (I guess) is here to make everything slightly better. Slightly.

ICYMI, a collection of poems written by Leonard Cohen, titled ‘The Flame’, have been posthumously released recently, and one poem, written in 2015, in particular has been making some headlines: ‘Kanye West Is Not Picasso.’

And yeah, Cohen had some feelings.

“I am the Kanye West of Kanye West/ The Kanye West/ Of the great bogus shift of bullshit culture/ From one boutique to another.” Wowee.

Oddly prophetic given all the stuff Kanye has been getting up to lately, including his batsh*t visit to the White House.

Well, now an audiobook of the collection of poems is being released, and Oscar-nominated actor Michael Shannon has been delegated the task of reading ‘Kanye West Is Not Picasso.’ And if you listen to one thing today, make sure it’s this.
