Five Finger Death Punch have been forced to pull the plug on their Australian tour, following the recent hospitalisation of frontman Ivan Moody.
He was admitted to the ER in his hometown of Denver last Thursday and is expected to make a full recovery, but both the band’s dates supporting the legendary Black Sabbath and their own headlining shows Down Under have been cancelled to give the singer time to recuperate.
5FDP have issued a statement expressing their “sincere apologies to both their fans and to the fans of Black Sabbath”, adding that it’s “especially disappointing” that they won’t be able to share the stage with Sabbath – a band whom they have a “deep reverence for” – on the heavy metal icons’ final ever shows in Australia.
Ticket holders for Five Finger Death Punch’s headlining shows in Melbourne and Sydney will be contacted by the relevant ticketing outlet to find out how to collect their refunds.
While a replacement support act for Sabbath’s final Aussie tour, which is due to kick off on April 15th in Perth, has yet to be announced.
We’ll bring you more information as it develops.
