Aussie production duo Flight Facilities have returned to the airwaves with a smooth new single called ‘Need You’.
Picking up from 2017’s ‘Arty Boy’ and ‘Stranded’, the new track sees Hugo Gruzman and Jimmy Lyell team up with Olivia Nott (aka NÏKA), who’s actually the younger singer of Georgia Nott from New Zealand duo Broods.
“We were out with Georgia in LA about a year or two ago and she was on the phone to NÏKA,” Gruzman told triple j. “We needed a singer for ‘Need You’ so we just yelled it down the phone, ‘Do you want to be on the track?’ She’s like, ‘Alright send it to me.’
“They’re really similar and I think there’s a third sister of theirs who is a singer as well. Apparently the roadtrips are fun watching them all harmonise. I’m yet to see it but the next goal will be to get the three of them together.”
Gruzman also said Flight Facilities have worked with Georgia Nott and singer-songwriter Dustin Tebbutt on new material, and they’re “looking at getting something out this year”.
