Genesis Owusu Revealed as Secret Headliner for South Eveleigh Solstice Festival

Genesis Owusu has been revealed as the secret headliner for next week’s South Eveleigh Solstice Festival on the heritage Locomotive Street, a stone’s throw away from Redfern Station.

The rapper, who released excellent debut album Smiling with No Teeth earlier this year, will close out the two-day event on Saturday, 19th June, with a lineup that also features singer-songwriter Budjerah, rapper PRICIE and dream pop duo Royel Otis. Tickets for that evening are on sale now.

That will come after a similarly stacked bill the previous evening that includes electronic favourites Pnau in DJ mode, Jagwar Ma‘s Jono Ma, rising pop prodigy Kota Banks and rap crew 1300. Both events will take place on the purpose-built Locomotive Stage, which will see the 139-year-old Locomotive workshop transformed into a live music venue.

The festival will also boast a range of other attractions, bringing together performance, food and drink, art installations and more. Other music events include a stage curated by community radio station FBi, which will feature sets from the likes of B Wise, Stevan, Andy Garvey, Madam3Empress and more.
