Guns N’ Roses Announce 2017 Australian Stadium Tour

UPDATED 06/12/16: Guns N’ Roses have announced Rose Tattoo & Wolfmother as official supports for their Australian tour.

ORIGINAL STORY: Australia’s patience has paid off, because rock icons Guns N’ Roses are officially bringing their Not In This Lifetime reunion tour to Australia in February 2017.

The announcement has been this week’s worst-kept secret, but we finally have official confirmation of the stadium tour, which will hit Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth, where Aussie fans will finally get the chance to see the classic trio of Slash, Duff & Axl Rose perform together on the same stage for the first time since their infamous Use Your Illusion tour back in 1993.

Earlier this week, a billboard was spotted in Melbourne advertising the band’s MCG show, before a video advertisement for the tour also leaked online, building fans’ appetites.

Guns N’ Roses’ reformed Appetite For Destruction-era trio of Slash, Duff and Axl is currently rounded out by longtime keyboardist Dizzy Reed, plus Chinese Democracy-era members Richard Fortus and Frank Ferrer.

You just can’t tell who’s going to pop up on this tour, though. The group’s original drummer Steven Adler has already made a cameo, and fans have been holding their breath to see if MIA rhythm guitarist Izzy Stradlin might still rock up (*devil horns crossed*).

Support acts for the tour are still to be announced, but Australia’s own Wolfmother have been lubing up the stage for GNR in the States, so if you ask us they’re a shoe-in for Aussie opening act status.

Then again, dubstep producer Skrillex has also been supporting the band on certain dates in the US, so the identity of their Aussie tour support could be anyone’s guess.
