Your m8s The Jungle Giants have got their third album in the can. It’s dubbed Quiet Ferocity, and they’ve already dished up a new helping in the form of fresh single ‘On Your Way Down’.
As per their usual form, it’s an infectiously groovy chilled-out toe-tapper, and follows their equally dancefloor-friendly previous single ‘Feel The Way I Do’, which has been getting a thorough flogging on triple j, currently boasting the #14 position on the station’s list of most played songs of 2017.
The Brissie indie foursome’s big album news comes while they’re trotting round the country with the Groovin The Moo fest, which has just one stop left in Bunbury to round out its 2017 run, and the band are promising that the forthcoming 10-tracker showcase their ability to combine simple arrangements with melodic intensity.
“Not like a bashing your head way,” says vocalist Sam Hales.
“More like a rumbly building intensity. It makes you want to dance, but also clench your fists. When I wrote it I knew it was going on the record and everything else would have to make room for this song and nod towards it.”
The follow-up to their acclaimed 2015 LP Speakerzoid is due out on Friday, 7th July. Get your ears on fresh cut ‘On Your Way Down’ below.
