St Jerome’s Laneway Festival has gone truly international this year but they haven’t forgotten about getting their Aussie Aussie Aussie on, with organisers today dropping dates for 2014, announcing some new venues and letting us know when to expect their massive first lineup announcement.
In the 11th year of the event, we’ll see the festivities get started in Singapore on the 25th January, 2014 before kicking it at Auckland’s Silo Park on 27th January. 31st January sees Laneway do Brisbane in the same venue as last year, RNA Showgrounds. Melbourne’s recent location change was successful, and on 1st February will incorporate a whole new area at Footscray Community Arts Centre, dubbed River’s Edge.
Sydney gets its Laneway on 2nd February, 2014 with stages at both Callan Park and Sydney College of the Arts, while Adelaide gets a brand-new venue on 7th February at the historic site of Harts Mill, Port Adelaide. Western Australia will also be mixing it up, with the event moving from Perth to Fremantle, taking place at the Esplanade Park on 8th February.
The first lineup announce is set for 24th September, so mark your diaries, get set for a new venue and let us commence the gossip and speculation about which of our favourite artists will be making the trip down under for Laneway 2014. So far, we already know CHVRCHES are a sure thing, and Savages look like they’re all but confirmed.
