CHVRCHES 100% Confirmed For Laneway Festival 2014

Laneway Festival organisers all but confirmed it themselves earlier this week, but the cat is now officially out of the bag. During an interview with Music Feeds, CHVRCHES have confirmed they will be returning Down Under for next year’s event.

The trio stopped by Music Feeds Studio while in town for a brief run of sold-out shows in support of their upcoming debut album Bones of What You Believe. It took a little nudging to get the confirmation from the polite Scottish crew – in fact, it took a mid-interview, on-air phone call to one of the festival’s organisers just to get the all-clear – but confirm they did.

In the interview, the trio also revealed that, after two EP releases – Gun and Recover – and the debut record on the way, they are already making serious headway on new material. You can watch the whole interview below.

It was organisers themselves who virtually sidestepped their own embargo on Wednesday after tweeting “if you missed out on tickets, they’ll be back soon *hint hint” in regards to CHVRCHES current tour. Subtle, guys.

London post punkers Savages accidentally let slip earlier this year that they’d be at an Australian festival next February, which almost certainly means an appearance at Laneway 2014, and both Savages and CHVRCHES are on the bill for Laneway Festival’s first international event, going down in Detroit on 18th September this year.

CHVRCHES debut album The Bones Of What You Believe will be released in Australia on Friday, 20th September.
