AJ Maddah has confirmed via Twitter that alt-metal giants Mastodon, Baroness, and Gojira will play Sidewaves together, with each band performing headline-length sets.”Looks like it will be Mastodon + Baroness + Gojira Sidewaves! Playing headline sets! Holy f-ck!” tweeted Maddah.
Initial responses to the news were understandably ecstatic though assumed that the touring mogul was confirming separate shows for each band. After one follower asked the pertinent follow-up, “is this all on the one bill? Or 3 separate shows?” Maddah emphatically replied, “ONE SHOW.”
Asked about the chances of a co-headline show featuring Mastodon and Baroness back in November, Maddah replied, “How good would that be? I’ll give it a go!” Regarding Gojira, the Soundwave boss revealed that Melbourne and Sydney sideshows were “very likely.”
Official Sidewave announcements began last week, with Soundwave revealing a highly-anticipated co-headline tour featuring Korn and Rob Zombie, an Alter Bridge and Living Colour co-headline show, and headline tours from Stone Temple Pilots with Chester Bennington and Placebo.
