It’s official — thrash legends Megadeth will tour Australia this October, and they’re bringing Finnish death metal lords Children Of Bodom along for the ride.
Megadeth’s refreshed lineup featuring Lamb Of God drummer Chris Adler and Brazilian guitarist Kiko Loureiro, are fresh from working on the follow-up to the band’s 2013 album Super Collider, and have now locked in dates in Perth, Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.
Dave Mustaine and company haven’t toured Australia since 2010. The band were meant to perform at Soundwave 2014 but Mustaine’s controversial last-minute cancellation left fans holding out for new Aussie shows.
Earlier this week, Mustaine took to social media to reveal that Megadeth would tour Australia “soon”, and the group have now come good on that juicy promise.
Megadeth’s forthcoming 15th album — which is still without an official title — is due for release in October, right around the time the band will be in Australia, meaning that new tunes will almost definitely be showcased at the group’s four Aussie shows.
Joining the band down under, Children Of Bodom are also putting the finishing touches on a new album called I Worship Chaos, which will be released on 2nd October.

UPDATE 20/08/15, 9.37am: Just in case it wasn’t clear, Dave Mustaine has confirmed Chris Adler will be on drums when Megadeth tour Australia this October.

UPDATE 23/09/15: The Perth leg of Megadeth’s 2015 Australian tour will no longer be held at Red Hill Auditorium. The show will now take place at Metro City on the same date, 16th October. Tickets already issued will be valid for the 18+ Metro City show. Catch updated tour details, below.
