Good mates and label-mates Ninajirachi and Kota Banks have joined forces for a masterclass in glittering and glitchy pop with the release of their new single, ‘True North’.
‘True North’ shimmers from start to finish, soaring gently for the first half and then erupting into a crunchy electronic breakdown.
Of the song, both Kota and Nina say that it’s a culmination of both of their solo careers.
“‘True North’ feels like the perfect encapsulation of both our solo music and our collaborative work together,” they said in a joint press statement.
“The basis of the track came together very naturally over a few hours one afternoon in the studio mid-late last year. It really feels like a medley of different styles that we both love so much.”
This is just the latest in what has been a prolific 2020 for Kota Banks and Ninajirachi, both of whom are signed to Nina Las Vegas’ NLV Records. Ninajirachi dropped her Blumiere EP earlier this year, with Kota dropping her Sweet & The Spice EP soon after.
