Pennywise Release Statement On Delayed Australian Tour

Yesterday Music Feeds reported that legendary punk rock act Pennywise unfortunately had to push back their return to Australia due to new vocalist Zoli Teglas suffering from back problems. For many the news first came via a tweet from Soundwave Festival Promotoer AJ Maddah, who posted: “Oh Feck! Pennywise tour dates postponed. Dude’s done his back. Can’t get on plane. New date tba.”

Now the band has released an official statement to Australian and Japanese fans, who have also been effected, assuring punters that the band will make up the tour dates as soon as Teglas is given a clean bill of health. The statement explains that Teglas is seeking medical treatment from the best doctors available and the band urges fans to ‘keep the beers cold’ for when Pennywise do tour Australian and Japan behind this year’s record All or Nothing.

All or Nothing is the first LP from Pennywise since Teglas joined the lineup, and as beloved guitarist Fletcher explained to Music Feeds back in May, the new album sees the band reconnect with their passion for agressive punk rock.

“We’re just trying to say we’re back and we’re back to good old Pennywise: the days when everything was positive and everyone wanted to be there and everyone had a common goal,” Fletcher told Music Feeds.

Due to a setback in what appeared to be the road to recovery for Zoli Teglas, Pennywise will have to postpone their upcoming appearances in Japan and Australia. After being examined by multiple specialists, Zoli has been advised to commence further treatments immediately.

“We love playing in front of our fans all over the world,” says guitarist Fletcher Dragge. “The doctor’s news was a hard blow for everyone but Zoli’s health is our number one priority. We are working with the best doctors around to make sure Zoli gets back on his feet as soon as possible…our apologies go out to all our dedicated fans…we will be making up these shows as soon as possible…keep the beers cold!”

We apologize to our fans and look forward to making it up the shows at a later date.
