Perth Big Day Out 2013 To Return Home To Claremont

News about The 2013 Big Day Out has already started to emerge with news about the Perth leg of the festival emerging through inmycommunity.com. The article reports that WA Promoter of the event Chris Knight is currently in discussions with the authorities about moving the event back to Claremont Showgrounds for 2013. This is good news for the festival, which by the looks of things will be returning to its full might Australia wide after the shaky 2012 event, which saw downsizing and line-up changes as a result of poor ticket sales.

Martin Molony, Chief Executive of Royal Agricultural Society, told the Western Suburbs Weekly that “The Big Day Out will come back here,” he continued “The showground is the only venue in Perth that can house 40,000 people safely”. Mr Knight spoke out on behalf of Big Day Out saying that “We think it is the premier venue in WA for holding events of this size and nature because of the way it is laid out – the toilets, transport and train line – there are lots of reasons why Claremont is a great venue for it,”

Although it is early days, it seems that things are running smoothly now that C3 Presents are involved. Going by the last several years, the 2013 Big Day Out line-up should be announced late September/early October, featuring an always diverse and sensational group of acts. Rumours have already started circulating about the possibility of a Pearl Jam appearance, however it is too early to tell; one thing is for sure, and that is we are in for one hell of a festival come January 2013
