Prog-rock icon and Porcupine Tree founder Steven Wilson has announced his return to Australia for a 2025 solo tour, in honour of his freshly released eighth solo studio album, The Overview.
The six-time Grammy nominee will visit our shores this November, playing five shows at theatre venues across Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.
Steven Wilson – ‘Objects Outlive Us: Objects: Meanwhile’
Wilson will be backed by a band of world class musicians at all shows, including legendary jazz keyboardist Adam Holzman (Miles Davis, Ray Manzarek), Nick Beggs (Mute Gods, Steve Hackett) on bass, Craig Blundell (Steve Hackett, Frost) on drums and Randy McStine (Marco Minnemann, The Fringe) on guitars.
As for Wilson’s new record, The Overview is described as a 42 minute conceptual journey, inspired by the “overview effect” of astronauts viewing Earth from space. It marks a return to the long form progressive style Steven Wilson redefined with the iconic Porcupine Tree and his earlier solo work.
