Rumours were flowing thick through the air around the possibility of a Prince afterparty in Melbourne to follow up his appearance at Sydney’s Ivy Club, which saw Seal and Public Enemy take the stage with the legend himself; however, disappointingly, but not surprisingly, everyone’s best friend Nui Te Koha was wrong.

However, there is hope for the Melbourne contingent of Prince fans as The Herald Sun has reported that Prince is currently planning on hosting the “mother of all afterparties”. The mega-party is set to take place on May 30 when Prince returns to Melbourne to follow up his sold-out show at Rod Laver Arena. Prince will take the stage in Brisbane in only a few hours to bless the ears and eyes of those lucky enough to attend.
If this rumour does turn out to be true, or if it is merely Nui exploiting the hearts and minds of the eager fans, one thing is for sure: the forecast for the next few weeks reads only one thing – Purple Rain with a chance of collaborations.
