The Smith Street Band have shown themselves to be one of Australia’s hardest working band, touring relentlessly following the release of 2014’s Throw Me In The River and now they’re heading out on the road one last time before they start work on the next record.
The Melbourne band have announced eight shows over Australia and New Zealand, capping off a huge few years of touring and building their audiences.
The Smith Street Band spent 2015 touring the globe with shows in the UK, Europe and North America but returned home to play Splendour In The Grass and also spent the beginning of this year on the Laneway Festival bill.
And just when you think they couldn’t get any busier, they’re currently playing in North America right now on a headline tour.
This June Australian tour will give the band one last opportunity to celebrate the success of Throw Me In The River with new and old fans before they hibernate to work on album number four.
Luca Brasi, Joelistics and Jess Locke Band will all be heading out on the road with them (on the Australian dates only) making for a packed lineup that’s sure to be a fitting temporary farewell for the band.
