Aussie experimental rock heroes The Drones have released second single A Moat You Can Stand In from their sixth studio album, I See Seaweed, and to accompany it they’ve announced a tour of Australia and their first-ever headlining tour of New Zealand.
That’s good news for those who missed their killer live shows at the start of 2013. The Drones wrapped up their first national tour in support of the album earlier this year, tearing up the Sydney Opera House, curating and playing ATP’s I’ll Be Your Mirror festival in Melbourne, before taking off to Spain and Portugal to play Primavera Festival.
This time around, you can catch Gareth Liddiard and company playing their guitar-laden tunes at dates in most of the usual stops around the country, plus Auckland and Wellington, as well as catching their sets at either Splendour In the Grass or Harvest festivals.
UPDATE: Two new shows have been added to the tour, with Canberra and Newcastle finally getting their Drone on. It’s also been announced that Melbourne collective Harmony will be joining the band on all dates. Full details below.
